Black and white is a fairly ubiquitous combination. And due to it’s popularity it can also be quite boring; a predictable go-to. So how do you punch it up? I love the shock of a white coat or jacket over a head to toe black ensemble. It is so very chic and looks effortless.

I already have a fashion crush on Rooney (save for that Golden Globes debacle) and she doesn’t disappoint in this. Love the feminine flair at the shoulder and close fit of the jacket with the loose leg pants.

The other wonderful perk to this look is that it is gender neutral. See how it beautifully translates to the masculine? Fit is key: tailored jacket and pants. And love the leopard slippers. Unexpected accessories are always a plus.

And translated “in the wild”: white coat paired with black leather skinny jeans. So casually elegant. It’s a look anyone can do at any price point. Keep your black head to toe, and get those jackets and coats altered at your local alterations shop. You’ll turn heads. Don’t forget to smile for the camera.
